Yes. Absolutely, as long as instructions are followed and care is taken then they are 100% safe. The fuel sits in a patented ceramic fibre so even if they are tipped over, no fuel will spill out (as long as it’s not over filled).
Yes it will, but as these fires are non powered like a heat pump for example, the heat will rise as opposed to being pushed around the room. For heat output ratings see the product description guide next to the fire you are interested in and check out our our Heating Guide.
No. One of the best things about Naked Flame fires is that whether the fuel is burning or not, it will not smell or leave any odour or lingering smell or even smoke. Brilliant.
Yes. Absolutely. We are based in Takapuna on Auckland’s north shore, and are more than happy to demonstrate a fire to show you exactly what to expect when considering a BioFuel fire as an option. The shop is open from 10am to 4pm Tuesday to Sunday, and outside of these hours by arrangement.
We are also seeking nationwide agents to be able to demonstrate in your local area, so please check with us if you are outside of Auckland.
Yes, and we don’t even care if your chimney is not fit for purpose. Our Naked Flame fires do not need to be vented or flue’d with a chimney. There are purpose made inserts or you can choose a free standing fireplace to sit in front of your old one. Check Naked Flame Fires.
Yes, simply shut the cover with the tool supplied and the fire is starved of oxygen and extinguished. No dangerous burning embers that can fall onto your carpet while you sleep.
We supply a lighter with each fire sold. These can also be purchased in Accessories.
Yes, the Free Standing or Table top models are ready to use straight from the box. The wall mounted series come with a mounting kit and wall brackets, so is similar to hanging a picture (if you are not confident in mounting these yourself then please seek a builder or professional handyman. The fireplace inserts do sometimes require more time to install but this can vary dependant on the existing space and old fireplace.
Yes absolutely. As long as it has cooled down, then a soft cloth with a good liquid stainless steel cleaner from the supermarket or hardware store will be fine.
We do sell Bio Fuel that can be collected from our showroom in either 5l, 20l, or 200l quantities. We courier BioFuel in minimum of 20l quantities nationwide door to door excluding rural. We charge $3 per litre / $60 per 20l, plus a $10 courier fee per 20l carton. See FUEL for ordering.
This depends on the size of the burner but as an indication, the 1.5l burner lasts from 4.5 to 6 hours. The larger burners can last more than 8 hours continuous on a single fill. Depending on the wind circulating the room, the oxygen can feed the flame and make it larger thus burning more fuel. A still calm room will burn less fuel.
Being honest, we see far more positive benefits than negative. There is no perfect solution. Wood fires will generally produce more heat after time, but then you have the logistics and mess or firewood. Pallet fires also produce more heat but aren’t the most attractive units to look at. Gas fires do look more attractive than wood or pallet, but with the flue and venting requirements, the installation can dramatically increase the capital cost of the fire, then the running cost is not cheap either, and the amount of heat produced vs what comes into the room is often disappointing. With Bio Ethanol fires, you have an open visual flame which is quite attractive aesthetically, and with minimal installation and no flue requirement, means all heat generated stays in the intended space. We do believe as more people are aware of this concept, they will surpass other fire sales in time. Read our customer testimonials (insert link to the home page with testimonials here) to see what our custom ers think. We have had overwhelming positive reaction so far, so we look forward to seeing you soon to discuss a BioFuel fire as a consideration to your home or commercial space.
