How Bio Fires Work

How Does a Bio Fuel Fire Work?

Bio Fuel fires are a relatively new concept to the New Zealand market, yet have become quite popular in Europe and other parts of the world that have smoke controlled zones similar to Christchurch, or for the ever growing apartment scene like Auckland CBD, or homes that simply for some reason or other, it is too costly to install a wood or gas option.

Manual and Automatic

The operation of them is remarkably simple. You simply fill the self-contained reservoir with the Bio Ethanol and then with a long stem lighter, ignite the fuel. The fuel is ultimately the ‘magic’ ingredient that when burnt, creates no smoke or carbon monoxide, thus requiring no fluing or venting. To fill, we offer a Jerry can system, a fuel pump or for the smaller fires you can simply pour with a funnel.

We also offer the world-leading automated Bio Ethanol fires, that can be controlled at the touch of a button via remote control or smartphone app or the unit's own integrated touchscreen panel. These are found in the Decoflame product category.
